Bilt is officially leveling up. The Bilt Card 2.0 rollout is coming soon, bringing major upgrades to earning, elite status benefits, and cardholder perks — and the program is also transitioning from Wells Fargo to Cardless as its new issuing partner.
If you earn points on rent, travel, or everyday spend, here’s everything to know about the next chapter of Bilt.
🗓️ Key Dates & Transition Timeline
- Bilt Card 2.0 launches February 7, 2026
- Early January 2026: Bilt will host a launch event revealing three new cards
- After the announcement, cardholders can choose which of the three cards they want
- You can continue using your current Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard through February 6, 2026
Your Bilt points, rewards, and account status remain unchanged during the transition.
🔄 Switching From Wells Fargo → Cardless
Bilt is moving its card program from Wells Fargo to Cardless, and the switch is designed to be smooth:
- You will be able to choose whether to transition to a new Bilt Card 2.0
- If you switch, you can transfer balances from your old Bilt card
- If you don’t switch, your existing Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard will convert to a Wells Fargo Autograph Visa (with a new card number)
- You can also keep both cards — one Bilt and one Autograph — even if you already have an Autograph card
Bilt says the experience should feel seamless on your end:
- Saved autopays & subscriptions will carry over automatically
- Apple Pay & Google Pay will update automatically with your new card
- Everything in the Bilt app transitions with no action needed
And a key note for points enthusiasts:
Choosing one of the new Bilt cards will not trigger a hard credit pull, but it will count as a new credit lineand could affect 5/24 status.
Huge detail for Chase players.
💳 Three New Bilt Cards Are Coming
Bilt will unveil three different cards—giving members the ability to pick the one that best fits their travel and rewards style. Bilt is clearly positioning itself as a tiered loyalty ecosystem similar to Amex, Chase, and Capital One — but with rent & housing as a core benefit category.
🏠 Earn Points on Rent and Mortgage Payments
This is big:
With Bilt Card 2.0, you’ll be able to earn points on mortgage payments — regardless of your loan servicer.
Bilt already made earning points on rent possible — mortgage earning pushes them deeper into the “housing rewards” space, something no major card program has done before.
✨ New Elite Tiers & Rewards Structure
Bilt Card 2.0 adds a full elite program with tier-based benefits:
| Tier | Benefits Snapshot |
|---|---|
| Silver | Entry tier perks + bonus earning |
| Gold | Elevated multipliers + monthly reward boosts |
| Platinum | Premium perks + access to exclusive Bilt experiences |
Earning rates also increase with usage — especially on Rent Day each month.
Bilt is clearly aiming to become not just a rewards card, but a full lifestyle and travel membership program.
✈️ Travel Power & Transfer Partners
Bilt continues to lean into travel rewards with strong transfer partners including:
- American Airlines
- United
- Alaska Airlines
- Hyatt
- British Airways + other Avios partners
- IHG
Combined with elite tiers, Bilt is now competing directly with premium travel cards — without an annual fee.
🎁 Ongoing Benefits
Recurring perks continue and are expanding, including:
- Rent Day bonuses each month
- Rotating partner rewards
- Experience-based perks
- Gamified earning for active cardholders
✅ Final Take
Bilt Card 2.0 isn’t just a refresh — it’s Bilt evolving into a full rewards ecosystem with:
- Three new card tiers
- Elite status
- Higher earning opportunities
- No-fee premium structure
- Ability to earn on rent + mortgage payments
- Smooth transition process with no hard pull
If you rent — or now even if you have a mortgage — this upgrade keeps Bilt in a category of its own.
And if you’re deep in the points game, the no hard inquiry + 5/24 impact detail alone makes this a must-watch card launch.
